I offer a service through Bariatric Psychological Services, a company I started, which offers complete pre-surgical evaluations for those contemplating bariatric procedures. In the past year I have received an increasing number of referrals from both gastroenterologists as well as insurance companies for individuals who are candidates for these procedures. Thus far, I have found these evaluations to be a helpful and enjoyable addition to my practice, and I have consequently developed a standard protocol (interview + testing + report) which is being used very successfully.
